3D Stained Glass Pattern — Snowman Christmas Village House with Tree and Gifts
A two-storey village house with a snowman holding a gift on the front and a decorated Christmas tree beside it, built as a 3D piece rather than a flat panel. It is the pattern people start a Christmas village with, and the reason is in the drawing: simple geometry, no curved glass, and small pieces that assemble quickly. Once the walls are up it looks far more detailed than the effort involved.
The house stands 3.94″ tall (100 mm) and is built from 74 pieces of glass — count on roughly 331 inches (8.4 metres) of foil on the lead lines before you add came. At 74 pieces the glass cutting is a couple of evenings; the assembly is the part that rewards care. The pattern is marked as an ordinary difficulty 3D project.
Three details do the work here. The snowman and the tree are separate pieces that attach to the front of the house, so they can be added at the end rather than built into the walls. The door is trimmed with twisted wire — that is the one material in this pattern that is not glass, and it is what stops the house looking like a plain box. And the roof is left unfastened, which is deliberate: drop an LED strip inside and the whole thing becomes a nightlight.

A mantelpiece, a shelf, or the front of a village display under a tree. At 100 mm tall it sits comfortably alongside the other buildings in the collection and reads clearly without competing with them. The roof is hinged open, so leave enough clearance above it if you are placing it on a high shelf — you need to get a light strip inside, and you need to do it again each year.

Printing and finishing
Print the PDF at 100% scale and check a measurement before cutting — never use “fit to page”, or the piece will print undersized and the walls will not meet at the corners cleanly. Because every piece in a 3D building is a simple shape, cut them all in one session and label each part; the assembly is where this project lives or dies, and a set of identical-looking rectangles that are actually four different sizes is the single most common way it goes wrong. Leave every solder joint to cool fully before you stand the piece up — thin walls move while they are still warm.
