Funny Deer Stained Glass Pattern — Deer on Skates with a Christmas Tree
A deer on ice skates, gluing a Christmas tree behind it. The humour is in the mismatch — the tree is far too big for the skater, which is exactly what makes it funny — and the diagonal of the skates gives the design its movement, so it does not read as a standing animal. It is a cheerful piece rather than a solemn one, which is a change of pace from most Christmas patterns. Download it instantly and trace it from the printed sheet, or take the vector file to a plotter or laser cutter.
The panel measures 9.00″ tall × 5.60″ wide (228 × 142 mm) and is built from 37 pieces of glass. At 37 pieces in a narrow upright frame this is a comfortable weekend project, marked as an ordinary difficulty design. The tree is the busiest area — cut it first while your hand is fresh, then move to the skates.

Where it works
A window, a porch rail, or a shelf. At 9 inches tall the proportions suit a narrow vertical space, and the slanted skates mean it reads well hung slightly off-centre rather than dead straight. Backlit is better: the pale snow and the pale tree separate the figure from the background in a way that unlit glass does not.
Who buys this pattern
Hobbyists looking for a Christmas piece with humour in it rather than solemnity; anyone decorating a narrow window where a square panel would not fit; makers who sell finished ornaments at craft fairs, where a funny piece sells well as a gift; and customers buying a Christmas gift for someone who cuts glass.
Licence
A personal and commercial licence is included. Make it for yourself, make it as gifts, or cut and sell the finished piece — no per-sale fees and no obligation to report.
Printing and finishing
Print the PDF at 100% scale on US Letter or A4 and verify a measurement before cutting — never use “fit to page”. Trace your colours, or cut the SVG on a machine. With 37 pieces the tree branches are the fiddly part; work them from the tip inward so the angles stay consistent. Grind the skate blades before soldering — thin points break.
A note before you start
You are buying the pattern only — glass, came, solder, and any finished piece are not included. The photographs show the design completed by other makers using their own materials.
