Where it works

A window or a shelf. At 165 mm tall this is tree-ornament territory rather than wall art, and the penguin reads well as a small Christmas ornament hung by a suction hook near a window. In a dim room it loses its charm, so backlighting matters more here than the size does. If you are working toward a larger panel, this makes a good test piece for your grinding and soldering before you commit to something bigger.

Printing and finishing

Print the PDF at 100% scale on US Letter or A4 and check a measurement before cutting — never use “fit to page”. At these sizes the two size variants fit on one sheet, so print once and check both before you start. The design is built from large curved areas, so grind the edges in several passes and work wet-dry through progressively. Cut the scarf and the headphones before the ice cream cone; the small round shapes on the cone are the only place this pattern asks you to be careful, and they are easier to cut while the rest of the penguin is still flat on the mat.
