Halloween Stained Glass Patterns — Creepy Pumpkin in a Witch Hat, 54 Pieces
A grinning jack-o’-lantern wearing a witch hat, with spider webs running through the corners. The pumpkin has a sense of humour rather than menace, which makes it the friendlier of the two Halloween moods — it reads as playful first and spooky second, and that is why it works in a doorway where something genuinely frightening would not.
The design measures 10.5″ tall × 10.77″ wide (267 × 274 mm) and is built from 54 pieces of glass. It is very nearly square — seven millimetres wider than it is tall — so it hangs equally well in a portrait or landscape window and does not need a wall to match. The pattern is marked as an ordinary difficulty design.
The webs are what make this one worth building rather than drawing the same pumpkin again. They give the corners something to do, they frame the face without a border, and they read clearly from a distance when the webs are cut in a pale glass against the dark background. If you cut the pumpkin first and the webs last, the webs go in faster than you expect — they are thin and there are not many of them.

Where it works
A window, a porch panel, or a wall with a backing board. At roughly 270 mm square this is a good size for a door or a sidelight — large enough to see from the path, small enough that it does not need structural glass. Backlighting is close to essential: the whole design depends on the webs being lighter than the background behind the pumpkin, and in a dim room that separation collapses. Put an LED strip behind it and it will read from across the street.
Who buys this pattern
Anyone decorating for Halloween who finds the grinning-face style funnier than gory; parents building something with children, since a pumpkin is a much easier sell than a corpse; people who already own spooky patterns and want a warmer one; and makers who sell finished panels at autumn craft fairs, where a nearly-square piece at 54 pieces is a comfortable one-evening build that still looks like real work when it is done.
Licence
A personal and commercial licence is included. Make it for yourself, commission it out, or cut and sell the finished panel — no per-sale fees and no obligation to report.
Printing and finishing
Print the PDF at 100% scale on US Letter or A4 and check a measurement before cutting — never use “fit to page”, or the design will print undersized and the webs will not reach the corners. If you want it larger, the free stained glass pattern resizer will scale the drawing for you. Cut the webs as thin strips and grind them last; they are the only part of this design that needs care, and working wet-dry through progressively avoids the jagged edges that make webs look broken rather than deliberate. Solder the pumpkin and the hat before the surrounding background where you can, so you are not handling a wide panel by its edges.
A note before you start
You are buying the pattern only. Glass, came, solder, an LED strip, any backing board, and any finished panel are not included. The photographs show the design completed by other makers using their own materials.
