Boss Snowman Stained Glass Pattern: The Snowman Who Took Santa’s Chair
Santa is out, and the snowman has settled into his chair — legs crossed, BOSS letters under him, top hat tipped back. This Boss Snowman stained glass pattern is printable: a 10.00″ × 8.58″ (255 × 218 mm) suncatcher, 46 pieces of glass at an Intermediate level. PDF and PNG, instant download, commercial license included.
The joke is in the pose
Most snowman patterns stand up straight and smile at the camera. This one is lounging: one arm along the armrest, one leg crossed over the other knee, and the word BOSS on the front rail of Santa’s chair. That is the whole story — the stand-in who is in no hurry to give the seat back. Drawn in a studio that has been cutting glass for 24 years and tested on real glass before it was published.
Why it looks three-dimensional
The glass is flat, but the chair is drawn in an isometric view: the seat and the backrest run away at different angles, the armrest curves toward the viewer, and the snowman sits inside that frame instead of in front of it. That is where the illusion of volume comes from in this Boss Snowman stained glass pattern – the perspective lines are built into the drawing, not added later. Build is unchanged: same flat glass, same foil, same solder. Only the drawing does the work, which is why the finished panel reads as a small scene from across the room.
Make him yours: three props and a chair sign
The pattern includes optional pieces for the snowman’s left hand. Decide which one you want before you cut:
- a cigarette with a smoke curl made of wire
- a red coffee cup
- a green beer bottle
- your own prop — and your own word on the chair rail instead of BOSS
Face, carrot and lettering without extra glass
Eyes, mouth and the BOSS lettering can be drawn with a marker or vitreous contour paint, or cut from black vinyl — the lettering for cutting is in the SVG file. The carrot can be painted, cut from red glass as a second layer, or built up from foil. To keep the face symmetrical, lay the head glass over the pattern and transfer the features through the glass.

Who this pattern is for
- For a boss with a sense of humour. Legs crossed, BOSS on the front rail – a finished panel on the office wall makes the point without a single word.
- For the relative who has made himself at home. A gentle hint instead of a family argument, and a good story at the holiday table.
- For someone who cuts snowmen every December and is tired of the ones that stand up straight and smile at the camera.
- For a maker who sells at craft fairs. The joke reads from three meters away, which is exactly the distance a market stall gets.
New for 2026
The Boss Snowman stained glass pattern is a fresh 2026 design: drawn this season, tested on real glass in the studio and published now. It is not an old drawing with a new name, and it does not repeat any snowman we have released before.
Want it finished instead?
If you would rather hang him this week than cut him, the finished Boss Snowman is sold separately — cut, foiled and soldered in the studio, ready for the window.
See it being built
The whole process – the drawing, the cutting, the parts that had to be redone and the finished panel in the window – is published on our Facebook page.
