Raven Stained Glass Pattern: American Gothic — Skull and Raven Window Hanging
This Raven stained glass pattern is a quiet, brooding composition: a raven perched on a human skull, framed by a row of old books. It borrows the title of a famous American painting for a reason — the mood is sober, literary and a little unsettling, which is exactly what makes it work as a statement piece in a study, a library or a dark hallway. Download it instantly as a print-ready PDF or a cut-ready SVG.
The design measures 11.81″ tall (300 mm) and is built from 50 pieces of glass. That piece count, plus an intricate overall shape, puts it in the intermediate-to-advanced range — a patient weekend project rather than a first one. Plan for roughly 240 inches (6 metres) of foil on the lead lines alone, before you add came for the perimeter and every internal division.

Who buys this pattern
Hobbyists who want a dark, dramatic window that reads as art rather than décor; gothic and Halloween-adjacent collectors; plotter and laser cutter owners who would rather cut the file than trace it; and makers who sell finished panels at craft fairs or commission them for clients.
Licence
Every download includes a personal and commercial licence. Make one for yourself, make it for friends, or cut and sell finished pieces — no extra fees and no reporting back to us.
Printing and finishing
Print the PDF at 100% scale on US Letter or A4. Do not select “fit to page”: this pattern is tall, and scaling it down changes every measurement on the drawing. Take the SVG to a cutter if you have one — 50 small pieces of glass in an intricate frame is far quicker by machine than by hand. If you cut by hand, work from the printed template, use a sharp glass cutter, and grind the internal edges before foiling.
A note before you start
You are buying the pattern only. Glass, lead came, solder and any finished piece are not included. The photos show completed work made by other makers from this same design, with their own choice of glass and came.
